As an exciting preview to the 11th annual Art on the Street, the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) has paired participating artists with downtown venues for a preview of selected artwork prior to the event.

Art on the Street
Saturday July 12th, 10am – 5pm
FOOD TRUCKS AND WANDERING MINSTRELS ADD TO THE VISUAL ARTS EXPERIENCE IN 2014
Downtown Guelph – Art on the Street is a highly regarded exhibition and sale that has become a staple calendar event for art lovers of all ages.
Come browse the original works of art and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts.
With a juried selection of artisans displaying works including just about every medium: textiles, pottery, photography, watercolours, oils, acrylic and more.

For the first time ever, food trucks will serve delicious specialty foods to visitors of the event. Chef Scotty Cooks will offer gourmet food from an upscale food truck, whilst The Command Post, a converted antique fire truck, will serve fast, healthy food made from local ingredients.
Find them in the RBC parking lot along with shelter and seating.
Wandering minstrels will roam Quebec Street bringing a festival atmosphere to the event.
From classical entertainment from professional opera singer Rachel Cleland, to boogie from disco band Spank!, performer’s will take their music to the streets and interact with visitors and artists along the way.
Bring the family and get messy at the Children’s Arts Festival in St George’s Square.
Find the stage for musical, theatrical and entertaining activities, alongside artistic pursuits for the kids created by The Children’s Art Factory.
Local sculptor Ben McCarl will be unveiling his new work ‘Ascending Spirit’, Play with Clay will welcome you aboard their craft bus, Guelph School of Art will help you make your own Jasper Johns, and the Suzuki String School of Guelph will let you have a go on their violins at their instrument petting zoo.
Art on the Street is a free event which welcomes art lovers of all ages, and is co-hosted by the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) and Guelph Arts Council (GAC).
