a reminder

A resident comments on the Nuisance Bylaw.

As reminder of the importance of always remaining vigilant about human and civil rights, and of the necessity to question directions that countries may follow, and to question assertions that media and governments often make to justify their decisions, please take a moment to the read the short essay at the following link, if you have not already done so:

With tactics such as those outlined in the article and that originate from our federal government, it becomes even more important that provinces and municipalities do not fall under the misguided influence of the totalitarian behaviour we see all around us in our country.

It is in this interest that I mention again that I am grateful for your unanimous support to exclude peaceful protests from the proposed nuisance by-law and send the bylaw back to staff for rework. However, I and many others still have grave concerns about many aspects of this bylaw, save for the nuisance parties and rowdiness of downtown bar patrons. I hope that staff will consider the alarms set forth in the link above when they begin the bylaw rework process. PM
