Artist banner launch on Quebec Street

DGBA press release.

Take a stroll along Quebec Street this summer and enjoy the outdoor gallery experience. 12 Guelph-based artists were selected by the Downtown Guelph Business Association and the Guelph Arts Council to be featured on banners adorning poles on this historic street.

Photographer Dean Palmer captured the artists’ portraits and their work. From cartoonist Seth and painter Ron Shuebrook, to jeweller Michelle Miller and blacksmith Graeme Sheffield, the banners honour local artists and their contribution to the community. A full list of artists is below.

Illustrator Cai Sepulis was included in the project and says, “I’ve grown up in this town and have had so much support from the community which has led to my success as an illustrator. To be recognised in this way alongside such great talents is very rewarding”.

A private launch party at Renann Isaacs Contemporary Art will host members of the arts community and representatives from the City of Guelph. If you are a member of the press and are interested in attending, please email [email protected].
