Staff memo.
Please be advised that we are now publishing audio recordings of the City’s Council and Committee meetings online. We decided to use a very cost effective cloud solution for this service which not only saves this data from negatively impacting our own server bandwidth, but also allows users to customize their experience (if they wish) in streaming, downloading and sharing the audio files. The platform also provides us with some basic analytics which we can use to track how many users are listening and sharing the recordings. Users can easily access links to these files by visiting the pertinent Council or Committee webpage on the City’s website or by visiting the City’s soundcloud site.
We have already posted most of the audio recordings from the 2013 meetings save and except a few which still need to be edited. Moving forward, we will make every effort to have these recordings posted along with the associated draft minutes by end of day Friday the same week of a meeting. Staff
