City will lower flags in honour of yesterday’s tragedy

The City of Guelph is lowering all flags at its buildings and facilities to half-mast in solemn recognition of the tragic events that took place in Ottawa yesterday; in
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec on October 20; and in honour of t
he late Corporal Nathan Cirillo, a member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada Regiment in Hamilton, who died yesterday, and Warrant Officer and Canadian Forces veteran Patrice Vincent, who died Monday.

“The thoughts and prayers of City Council and the entire Corporation of the City of Guelph are with the victims’ families today,” says Mayor Karen Farbridge. “The lowering of City flags is also an act in honour of residents and public service responders in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Hamilton and Ottawa.”
