From research to plate, food is the focus for Guelph and Wellington County at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Guelph and Wellington County are being showcased at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair starting today through to November 15th. The exhibit focuses on local farmers, producers and microprocessors from Guelph and Wellington County and offers retail space for sampling and selling local food products.

The booth this year was organized through Tourism Services’ role in the Guelph Wellington Regional Culinary Tourism project funded by the Ontario Market Investment Fund. Partners include Grow Guelph, Guelph Wellington Local Food Initiative, Elora Fergus Tourism, The Town of Minto and local businesses.

Located next to the University of Guelph’s booth, we will be exhibiting for the entire 10 days of the Fair at booth number 5928 at the Direct Energy Centre.

“By showcasing alongside the University of Guelph at The Royal, the Guelph Wellington Local Food exhibit demonstrates the entire food cycle, from research to plate,” said Sue Trerise, Senior Business Development Specialist, Tourism Sector for the City of Guelph’s Economic Development and Tourism Department.

The Fair is open 9am – 9pm daily and 9am -8pm on Sunday, November 8th and 9am – 6pm on November 15th.
