House fire at historical building extinguished

Press release.

The fire at 25 Manor Park Crescent that the Guelph Fire Department started battling at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, is now out.
Large volumes of water and environmentally–safe fire extinguishing foam were used by the Guelph Fire Department during their efforts to extinguish the fire. The Ministry of the Environment and the City of Guelph’s Environmental Protection Officers are monitoring water and foam run–off into the Speed River. Absorbent booms have been set up at Speed River outflows to contain bubbles created from the foam. The bubbles pose no risk to humans, the environment, fish or other wildlife.
Fire crews from five fire stations attended the scene. There are no injuries to occupants of the building or fire crews.
