Staff memo.
Staff continue to move forward to execute Council’s direction to reduce the speed limits on streets adjacent to elementary schools. I am informed this project remains on track and should conclude as expected by the end of May. We are quickly nearing the introduction of 30km/h zones on collector-classed roadways expected before the end of April. As part of our communication strategy, staff of Public Works and Corporate Communications have developed this advertisement (see below) for use on a Guelph Transit bus. This initiative should catch considerable attention as the zones take effect. We look forward to the positive reception and anticipated impact these zones will have on our community.
