As an outcome of CAO Roundtables staff asked me to make a very clear statement about:
a) why our organization is transforming itself;
b)how we are going ‘to be’ known as a workplace – our corporate identity which was presented to Council in December; and
c) what the long term results will produce for our community, Council, partners and local government in general.
In my leadership role, I wrote and presented to staff the attached vision – a manifesto of sorts for local government staff. This was shared at a full meeting of city management and union presidents last Wednesday.
The meeting went well and we are in the process of further sharing this statement with staff.
At that meeting, we also defined clearly our corporate work priorities and directed them to be aligned into departmental work plans – all based upon the work approved by you as City Council. This work is underway now.
