Wal-Mart Letter to English stakeholders

Dear Ian,

I am very pleased to provide you with a link to Wal-Mart Canada’s recently released second CSR report, We will make a difference.

The full report is available in English and French online at http://www.walmart.ca/wps-portal/microsite/CorpVal/index.jsp. A summary format which includes highlights from the year and Wal-Mart’s key performance indicators is available in stores.

On behalf of Wal-Mart Canada, I would like to thank you for taking the time to participate in development of the report.

Wal-Mart Canada views stakeholder dialogue as a long-term and ongoing process. Your feedback was documented throughout the interviews, panels and report commentary process and provided valuable input in the final report.

Some specific examples of stakeholder feedback that was reflected in the report includes:

Clarified the explanation of ‘Made in Canada’
Addressed the issue of unions
Provided select examples of supply chain issues and Wal-Mart’s efforts in China, and
Explained the differences between Wal-Mart Canada and Wal-Mart corporate in Bentonville.

We were unable to address all of the concerns at this time, but please be assured that we have registered your opinions and suggestions and are considering how they could be implemented going forward.

Should you have any questions about the report, please contact me at [email protected]. Should you have any questions about the stakeholder engagement process or if you would like a hard copy of the report mailed to you, please contact Jenna Feldman at Canadian Business for Social Responsibility at [email protected].

We look forward to continuing the discussion with you.

Sincerely yours,

John Lawrence
