From City Staff:
Roads;
Please be advised that staff continue to service the primary and secondary roadway systems throughout the City and that we have initiated a “Call –Out” operation in the residential areas as of 12.00 Noon Today. Contracted services will be engaged in the residential areas until approximately 12.00 Midnight. Once the residential areas have been plowed, a sanding and salting application will be undertaken by staff. This material application is estimated to be complete by the afternoon rush hour tomorrow.
In addition, staff will commence snow removal operations tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow, to clear snow from the downtown area. Snow removal will continue in other areas of the city in the days, afternoons and night shifts to come.
As always, Staff will continue to monitor the weather and react to conditions as required.
Sidewalks;
Staff continue to work on plowing operations in the primary and secondary sidewalk routes and are expected to be complete by the morning rush hour. Work will begin the in the residential routes tomorrow morning and staff will work into the evening till completion.
