Guelph Tourism Information Centre will be open on Saturdays this winter.

Starting on December 7, the Guelph Tourism Information Centre will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“This time of year we see more people coming downtown to skate in Market Square, doing some holiday shopping downtown, or getting holiday goodies at the Farmers’ Market so we’re opening our doors to help people get the most of their visit to Guelph on Saturdays.” said Stacey Dunnigan, Supervisor, Tourism Services.
The City is piloting Saturday hours during the winter months when the ice rink in Market Square is open and also in the hopes of catching Farmers’ Market patrons. Residents who have friends and family visiting can drop in and find out what’s happening, peruse the tourism information, or browse a selection of Guelph merchandise.
The City is reallocating existing staff to cover weekend hours, so no additional wages or overtime pay will be used, and staff will monitor visitation each Saturday to determine if the Tourism Information Centre should continue operating on Saturdays. The pilot will end when the ice rink closes in the spring.
The Tourism Information Centre is located in Guelph City Hall at 1 Carden Street. Guelph tourism information can also be found at visitguelphwellington.ca and via Twitter @visitguelph.
