Guelph Transit gearing up for September

Minor stop and schedule adjustments to routes 3, 17, 18 and 41

Guelph, Ont., August 23, 2018 – There’s a flurry of activity happening behind the scenes at Guelph Transit to get ready for September, as residents and students return from summer vacation.

“As part of our ongoing effort to improve the service for riders, we’re training 11 new drivers and making some minor adjustments to schedules,” says Robin Gerus, interim general manager at Guelph Transit. “Look for the changes to take effect on September 4.”

In addition to the new drivers, who are expected to hit the road next month, adjustments are being made to three bus schedules and one bus route.

· Route 3 Westmount: Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes 5:45–7:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.–12:15 a.m.; and every 20 minutes 7:15 a.m.–6:15 p.m.

· Routes 17 Woodlawn Watson and 18 Watson Woodlawn: minor tweaks to schedule

· Route 41 Downtown-University Express: relocating route based on transit operators’ recommendation and the ongoing Wilson Street parkade construction. Bus turns right on Wellington Street at Gordon Street (no longer goes north on Norfolk Street); new stop added at Wellington at Gordon eastbound; and stop removed at Gordon at Nottingham northbound

For students attending or returning to the University of Guelph this fall, service resumes on the university routes as of September 4.
