Stone Road reconstruction begins Monday

Press release.

Stone Road East between Village Green Drive and Victoria Road South will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, June 23, for approximately two weeks.

Through traffic will be detoured along Victoria Road South, Arkell Road and Gordon Street during the road closure. Drivers are advised to follow signed detours or, if possible, avoid the area.

The reconstruction of Stone Road East is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 23, 2014 with anticipated completion by May 2015, weather permitting. Following the initial two week closure required for road culvert and storm outlet installation, Stone Road East will have one through lane open in each direction for the remainder of the project.

“Construction work on Stone Road will be done in stages to reduce impacts to the travelling public,” explained Brad Hamilton, project engineer, Engineering Services. “Access to adjacent properties will be maintained as best as possible throughout the reconstruction.”

The City of Guelph appreciates residents’ patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction work, and
