All week the staff at the ward 2 blog will be posting our top ten blog entries as determined by our editors.
Although we tried to focus on Ward 2 specific topics, some of the issues have a community wide interest.
#1 410 Clair Rd E. In late November, Councillors received correspondence relating to a proposal to build a Gurdwara at 410 Clair Rd. E.. It was posted to the Ward 2 blog and reaction was immediate.
Local residents raised concerns about the proposed Gurwara included parking, traffic, minarets and issues around the Sikh faith and changes it might bring to the neighbourhood.
Others challenged the critics saying that the concerns were merely indications of bigotry and nimbyism.
Nevertheless, the 410 Clair Rd posting has attracted almost 150 comments and has been viewed over 3200 times.
City staff are currently reviewing the application and a recommendation is forthcoming.
Expect to hear much more on this in the months to come.
