Guelph Urban Forest Friends has reviewed the information provided on the proposed development at 39-47 Arkell Road/1408 Gordon Street. Having viewed the site, we note that there appear to be a number of mature trees, particularly around the perimeter. The mature trees should be integrated into the development in order to retain canopy and provide ecological services.
If mature trees are removed, the basal area of the trees removed should be replaced. Trees removed should be documented by species, size and canopy loss.
