A resident offers a redesign of MacDonnell St.
Regarding Macdonell street, from Norfolk to the Co-operators building. What if we removed the parking spaces along the sidewalk, and instead put them perpendicular to traffic down the centre of the street. As an example I have sent a photo of the source of my idea. Russell Street in Melbourne Australia. I cannot be certain how many parking spaces would be lost, but I believe this would make Macdonell a focal point for downtown. We could plant large trees down the centre amongst the parked cars, bike lanes could be against the curb, and it would open up both sidewalk visually for cafe’s and other uses.JS
