I was very disturbed to hear that the city is planning on making changes to St Georges Square soon.
I think that it is great to look at the opportunity to change it. I believe I read that is slotted for 2015.
People are concerned about the shops in the square with the buses moving out. If you start having construction at the square now you are not doing any good. There is no point having a vibrant downtown if the shops go out of business.
I really think you should just sit back and wait until the plan is finalized before spending (wasting) our tax dollars on things that could change or just be replaced when the plan unfolds. Of course a bit of paint is OK but please do not start ripping up the pavement.
I would really hate to see another mess like Carden Street. MN
