This e-mail is just to give you an update on the status of this application following the initial public meeting held on December 7, 2009. Staff have met with the applicants to be begin the process to discuss and respond to the issues raised at the initial Council public meeting.

It disappoints me greatly that the Guelph Planning Department has decided not to recommend support for the extension of the “100-metre separation rule”, (presently a condition for the distribution of lodging houses), to all owner-absent income rental properties with similar numbers of renters.
Municipal Board supports City re-designation of Lafarge Lands
In a decision released this morning, the Ontario Municipal Board supported the City of Guelph’s position regarding the re-designation of the former Lafarge lands. The triangular parcel is a vacant, underutilized brownfield site located on either side of Silvercreek Parkway, between Paisley Road and Waterloo Avenue and east of the Hanlon Expressway.
