I am deeply concerned by the proposed building heights in our historic, much heralded downtown. Would we still be the fourth best place to live if our downtown was over-run with high-rises. I didn’t see any pictures of the existing ones in the latest public recognition we have recieved.
With Guelph’s recent recognition as the 4th best place in Canada to live…do we still need to lure developers with these height options? Will we lose the very beauty of our European style of downtown with these projects?
Please stand up for Guelph’s significant heritage and preserve the special ambiance of our downtown by not allowing any more overly tall structures. Our population density requirements can be met without the destruction of this rare treasure! Please act before it’s too late…once the door is open to 18 stories….it’s over.
