Heritage Designation and Sale of Wilson Farmhouse

I am writing in regards to the heritage designation and sale of the wilson farm house and large parcel of land. We purchased our home in 2009 on Kinlock Street as a new build. With this we were able to choose our lot. We thought that the ideal spot would be directly across from the park (as seen in the Pidel sales office) as we thought this would be great for our future children. The park fronts onto 4 streets. However, now it is brought to our attention that the city does not want to restore the farmhouse for public use as it is not in the budget. Instead, the city would prefer to sell of a 1/3 acre of land. For the city of Guelph to go forward with this sale is a disgrace to the families in the neighbourhood. We bought out homes for the park that would be outside of our front doors. We were told by the builder that this land was donated to the city from the Ingram family. It is a wonderful gift to our neighbourhood and should not be sold off for the city to make a profit. I firmly believe that it would be in the best interest of the city and the neighbourhood for the home to be taken down (as it is not the original Wilson farmhouse) and this space to be used as a key place within the park.KC
