Library

We are very disappointed to hear of the proposal to cut the library from the budget, and even to not consider it for several years.
This will have a devastating affect on the downtown as we have been preparing for the new library by accumulating proposed properties which will now be left empty, or even worse, which will be turned into something else which will set the library plans back even further.
So many delays in establishing a modern main library for our community will affect all of us. Please see again the statistics showing how people turn to the library in times of economic downturn, and review the comments by Virginia Gilham about the importance of a library.
Please reconsider the priorities for this year’s budget and re-establish the library as necessary. We need to have vision to keep Guelph as an attractive place for industry and families. SS
