I wish to express my concern over the potential building heights that may be allowed under the proposed downtown secondary plan.
I have 2 homes in Ward 1, have lived here for 20 years and value the historical and community feel of Guelph.
I am not concerned about mostaspects of the porposed plan. I encourage more intensive downtown residential growth but am VERY concerned about the building heights to be allowed. I do not think having a “tower” approach to the city is appropriate.
In order to maintain the amazing “feel” of Guelph for the next century, downtown building height should not be greater than 10 stories.
Building height should be singled out and voted on as a separate issue by council in addition to the remainder of the proposed downtown secondary plan.Thank-you for your consideration in this matter,NM
