Noon Hour Concert Series – Free live performances in downtown Guelph starting next Friday May 31st

St George’s Square will once again host the 2013 Noon Hour Concert Series in downtown Guelph. Organised by the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA), this free annual outdoor music event will start on Friday May 31st and continue every Friday at Noon until September 6th.

Rising star Sarah Felker will launch the event at the end of May treating us to a powerful voice beyond her 19 years. Other first-time Nooners, such as Olivia Borkorsky and CBC Searchlight finalist Ambre McLean, will lift the spirits of downtown employees and visitors with their exceptional vocals. Crowd-favourites Adrian Jones, Kim Regimbal, Jason Raso and Ian Reid will lead the pack of returning musicians. Ian says “this is the highlight of the summertime for me. As a performer, you can count on great audience support: dancing kids, smiling passers by, and toe tapping paper bag diners. It makes me proud to be a part of the community.”

The 2012 series saw the audience bathed in hot sun so with this in mind the DGBA will be loaning out bright and colourful parasols and supplying sunscreen. As DGBA Executive Director Marty Williams explains “we want people to be able to relax and enjoy the music and the vibe of downtown Guelph in the summer. Quality performances and respite from the sun go a long way to giving folks an enjoyable afternoon”.
