Opposition To Sikh Temple in Westminster Woods

Originally sent to Councillors Billings and Wettstein who were in attendance at last evening’s meeting.

I appreciate that you were in attendance at the meeting this evening at the Salvation Army church to hear your Ward constituents voicing their opposition to the proposed Sikh Temple in this area.

After reading Mr Wettstein’s comments in the Mercury this evening, I trust that his uncertainty has now been clarified. The tax paying residents do not want a temple here. That was made abundantly clear by all present.

As our elected officials, I expect that you need no further direction on your representation of our needs at the next council meeting and will strenuously oppose any further motions by the Sikhs to have any sort of structure in the area of Westminster Woods.

Looking forward to attending the next public meeting on this issue DK
