As part of its Annual Asphalt Program, the City will be undertaking minor concrete work and paving surface asphalt on Wyndham Street and Farquhar Street starting September 30.
As part of this work, the City will work through its contractor Coco Paving Inc., to repave Wyndham Street from Carden Street to Farquhar Street and Farquhar Street from Wyndham Street to the dead end. In addition, a crash beam will be installed on the Wyndham Street bridge.
A full road closure of Wyndham Street and Farquhar Street will take place from September 30 to October 11 to accommodate the installation of the crash beam, concrete and road restorations, and paving operations.
It is anticipated that construction will begin on September 30, 2013, and is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
The City will be mailing out a construction notice to local residents, businesses and property owners. Access to driveways on Farquhar Street during construction may be temporarily blocked during normal working hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“The contractor will make every effort possible to maintain access to driveways, but delays for construction operations and equipment movement can be expected. All driveway access should be restored by the end of each working day,” explained Grant Ferguson program manager of Technical Services.
