Taste of Downtown begins this Friday

The Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) is pleased to host its newest venture, Taste of Downtown, from October 16 through October 25.

For ten days this month, Taste of Downtown gives the public the opportunity to enjoy their “Made in Downtown” foods at excellent prices and be treated to some distinctive seasonal menus.
Lynn Broughton of the DGBA explains,
“We’re well aware of how much the public loved our twice-annual event, Dig-In Downtown, which offered prix-fixe meals at downtown’s finest restaurants, but wanted to open the program up to all downtown eateries that wished to participate. Taste of Downtown does just that: provides everything from unique menus to snacks on the fly. The launch date on World Food Day, October 16, coincides nicely and seems a perfect fit with other great reasons to venture downtown in the coming days. ”
Both the Guelph Arts Festival and the 24th Annual Guelph Studio Tour host visual art excursions that wind their way through the downtown core this weekend .
“After all, food is art”, says Broughton.

Taste of Downtown offers added incentive; its Passport to Taste gives customers the chance to win $200 Downtown Dollars, further appealing at this time of year.
Passports can be obtained at each participating eatery, City Hall, Guelph libraries and are available for download at www.downtownguelph.com, as is the brand new 2010 Downtown Dining Guide.
