20th Annual Winter Lights & Music
Singing performances, a skating showcase….. and Santa

Downtown Guelph – In partnership with the City of Guelph, the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) invites you to it’s 20th Annual Winter Lights & Music event. Starting on Friday December 6th at 6.30pm in St George’s Square, members of First Light Theatre will sing festive music as DGBA staff hand out candles and Capistrano Caffe serves hot chocolate. Santa and MP Frank Valeriote will light the tree, then with candles in hand, we invite attendees to walk with us to Market Square.
Illuminated by the seasonal lights of City Hall, the Guelph Community Singers will welcome us with festive music at Market Square at 6.45pm. As you listen to their performance, you can enjoy the skills demonstrated by members of the University of Guelph Varsity Skating Team. Watch as they leap, twist and turn on the ice, exhibiting the skills they spend hours and hours each week perfecting. Bring your skates and join them on the ice after their performance when they will be on hand to offer their advice and knowledge.
Marty Williams, Executive Director of the DGBA, is looking forward to hosting this popular community event. He says “this is a lovely time to be in downtown Guelph. The stores are decorated, the weather is crisp, and Market Square is welcoming skaters for the season”.
