The City of Guelph is partnering with four local retailers in a giveaway as part of its Smart Wash rebate program. The Smart Wash ‘Wash & Win’ giveaway gives residents a chance to win one of four high-efficiency washing machines. The washing machines have been donated by Shuh’s Appliance Centre, The Brick, Leon’s and The Home Depot. Residents can enter for a chance to win by visiting participating retailers between October 10 and October 31 and filling out a ballot.
Smart Wash offers residents a $100 rebate when they replace a top-loading washing machine with the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR®-qualified machine. Rebates, provided by the City of Guelph and Guelph Hydro, are credited to the applicant’s hydro account within 12 weeks of submission.
Replacing an old washing machine with a high-efficiency model can save residents up to $100 a year on water bills. High-efficiency machines use up to 76 per cent less water than older top-loading models. Front-loading models provide added benefit as they are gentler on clothes and use less detergent.
‘Wash & Win’ giveaway ballots include a short survey. Ballots are required to be completed in full to be eligible. The ‘Wash & Win’ giveaway is open to all Guelph residents, aged 18 and over. Participation is limited to one ballot per household per participating retail location. Winners will be drawn at participating stores on November 1st.
