Downtown Guelph’s newest art event seeks Street Artists

The Downtown Guelph Business Association is seeking talented street artists to participate at their newest art event, the 2013 Street Art Fest (formerly Graffiti Fest). Taking place Saturday September 28th on Cork Street, downtown Guelph, we welcome interest from groups and individuals who produce all types of urban art forms.
This is an excellent opportunity to produce street art in a safe and approved setting, and showcase work to the public. It is our intent to enliven our downtown community and provide a positive forum for an art genre that possesses so much talent yet is rarely given a setting such as this. Due to the increased interest in this event and the limited number of spots, candidates must submit a picture of an example of their work (confidentiality guaranteed) by Friday August 30th. Artists will be chosen based on the work they submit by Friday September 6th.
Artists must be able to create a piece that takes most of the day to produce, thereby allowing an insight into the processes of their work. One large blank 4’ x 8’ board will be provided…all other materials are provided by the artist.
