On the topic of the proposed Sikh Temple in the south end, I will be brief.
I do not live in that area however I do know people whose homes are almost ready to be moved in to. Had they known that a Sikh temple was proposed to be built in the south end they never would have chosen that area to build. From what I have been told this will eventually make their homes devalued and hard to sell.
If you want to build a temple such as this then build it on land where no homes currenty exist and anyone who choses to build a home in this area will then know exactly what they are up against. Ie population of this temple… affect on general neighboorhood environment.
It is NOT FAIR to the people in this area who it appears are now having to form groups and are blogging in opposition to this. Why does the City want to disrupt their lives for the sake of a temple which is NOT built yet. This is general stupidity at City Planning Office.
Move it somewhere else where it will NOT bother anyone who has already established their lifestyle. It doesnt take a ‘rocket scientist’ to figure this out.
If this temple is built on this or any site that currently disrupts any part of this community then you will definitely not see my vote as you have in the past. KS
