I am actively working on some fundraising initiatives within the Guelph community and I wanted to let you know about what we are planning. We are three ladies in the community just trying to make a difference!
4 years ago my daughter almost lost her life based on some health issues she encountered and in turn we try to give back every year. I have set up what we call the “Blanket a child with Love” program. We reach out to children currently in hospitals receiving critical care. I attached the flyer that we made for last year, and a formal letter that includes just some of the articles that the papers have run. https://www.facebook.com/FleecyTeesThis year we are planning a Family Fun day that will be held outside on Saturday October 15th at 919 York Road (Former Royal Canadian Legion, now the home of Well.ca)
The event will target families with the focus being the children. We will provide a day full of activities for them! The event will be from 12-4 and admission is free. We just ask for the donation of one new blanket per family. Based on a free event and all proceeds going to local hospitals we are trying to ask corporations to help support our costs and or ask entertainers to donate their time. In turn we are trying to promote all companies/entertainers by handing out information/setting up booths/selling items etc.
We are hoping for hundreds to attend based on past years and the support we continuously receive year after year.
We would love to hear from you if you are interested in supporting our cause? This could be as simple as just posting this information among your groups/contacts/organizations to help spread the word about the event so many families can come out and join us. Other areas that we are looking for support are; volunteers, sponsors, and entertainment.
I would be happy to send you all the details once completed. We are still drafting the flyer in hopes to add all sponsors as a form of advertising. TM
