I am pleased to advise you that we have received word via Michael Chong’s office that River Run Centre has been confirmed for an additional 2 years of funding under the Canadian Arts Presentation Fund for $60,000 per year. This fund, through the Department of Canadian Heritage, aims to support the presentation of professional performing arts programming, and River Run receives the funding to support both the professional entertainment series of touring artists offered each year, as well as the Linamar School programming series.
We’re pleased that River Run’s funding was sustained, as this $60,000 directly reduces the facility’s reliance on the municipal tax-supported budget each year.
I’d like to acknowledge the effort and hard work that our Manager of Cultural Development, Ella Pauls puts into this annual grant application – the process is onerous, and it is in large part because of Ella’s efforts that River Run is able to secure this funding on a continued basis.
