As ‘Home of the Paper Bag Princess’, the Guelph Public Library is proud to announce the launch of its Robert Munsch Discovery Portal at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16th in the Main Library Children’s Department (100 Norfolk Street). In honour of Canada’s most beloved children’s author – and Guelph’s very own – everyone is invited to celebrate the works of Robert Munsch! Whether you are a preschooler, teen or eighty-five years old, a teacher, researcher or you love kids lit, there is something for everyone on the library’s new web portal.

The GPL’s Robert Munsch Discovery Portal includes:

·Curriculum support materials for teachers, librarians, homeschoolers, and daycare workers including lessons plans and program ideas

·Dynamic media gallery featuring stories and interviews with Robert Munsch

·Entertaining games and activities for children of all ages

·Interactive map highlighting Munsch’s impact across Canada

·Direct contact with GPL’s Munschologists: [email protected]

The portal’s objective is to share Munsch’s creativity to ensure that our entire community benefits from lifelong learning opportunities whether in the library, at home or school. Join us at the launch to experience the portal first-hand, play games, create crafts, and so much more.

The board and staff of the Guelph Public Library are honoured to launch this discovery portal and would like to thank Kevin Page for volunteering his graphic abilities, and web designer Andre Harjant along with valuable input from artist Ben McCarl, illustrator Shawn O’Hagan, and the GPL’s Munschologists. Many thanks to Robert Munsch for his commitment to children’s literature and his avid support of public libraries!
