The GCS are a non-auditioned, secular choir that is open to anyone over the age of 16 and accessible and diverse. We have a wonderful director, Rachel Cleland, and an equally wonderful accompanist, Grace Peters. Our membership is anywhere between 60 and 80 singers. Everyone is friendly and focused on our mandate, which is to have fun while making music. Some of our members have sung in choirs before and can read music; others have never sung in public and don’t read music at all. Everyone is welcome! We usually have two concerts a year and hope to get out more casually in the community to share our music there too.
We meet every
Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
at Guelph First Baptist Church 255 Woolwich St., near the corner of Norwich. Our fees are $80 per session (there are two sessions per year) or $50 for students. A sliding scale is available for those who need it; we don’t wish to exclude anyone because of cost.
