The staff assessment is that Week 1 got off to a great start and, in fact, exceeded expectations! Approximately 25 customers were anxiously waiting outside at market opening! We counted over 675 customers and a total of 41 vendors present. We had a very good mix of vendors present (ie. farmers, re-sellers, crafts and prepared food) and the 41 represents approximately two thirds capacity. More significantly, we were able to accommodate new vendors who have been on a waiting list, and more vendors are expected in the following weeks.
Finally, and most importantly, staff received many comments from both vendors and customers that it was a great first week and they can’t wait until next week to do it all again.
