Issued Decision – The Corporation of the City of Guelph v. Director, Ministry of the Environment

Staff memo.

I am pleased to advise that the City has been successful in our application for leave to appeal, under the Environmental Bill of Rights, the decision of the Director of the Ministry of the Environment to issue under the Ontario Water Resources Act an “Amended Permit to Take Water” to River Valley Developments for operations at the Guelph Dolime Quarry.

In the decision received a few moments ago, the Environmental Review Tribunal granted the leave to appeal with respect to the entirety of the decision made by the Director of the Ministry of the Environment.

We will review the decision of the Tribunal in detail with legal counsel next week and advise further.
