Good morning. The storm that struck the City last night caused felled quite a number of trees throughout the City. Trees have fallen on houses, cars, hydro lines. A number of roadways were blocked and closures implemented. While widespread, it appears Exhibition Park area sustained significant damage. There is so much to clear staff that staff have created three chipping areas where we can centrally process the wood for disposal. The locations are at Exhibition Arena, Silvercreek Park and Larry Pearson
We recognize there will be many damaged private trees residents will need to dispose of. Any tree debris brought to the chipping areas will be processed.
We are still assessing the overall damage. We’ll keep everyone informed as more information becomes available.
