As we draw closer to Guelph Public Library’s 2nd annual Evening for Book Lovers – Red Carpet Edition, just a friendly reminder for those still interested in purchasing tickets to this fabulous event, they will be on sale until January 24th only! Tickets can be purchased at

Held at the beautiful Hanlon Convention Centre on Saturday February 8th 2014, attendees will enjoy a fabulous four-course dinner, lots of contests and prizes, silent auction festivities, and fun for everyone as we celebrate award winning entertainment and an appreciation for books and movies! Once again, we are pleased to announce our friends at Meridian will be this year’s presenting partner!
Book lovers will be treated to a keynote address by the renowned Judy Croon—comedian, motivational speaker, radio host, and author! Guests are encouraged to walk the red carpet dressed as their favourite movie or book character, come as film or book critics, or even paparazzi! Guests will also have the opportunity to be the star in our photobooth festivities and to win many great items including a VIA Rail Canada Getaway for two and a Chocolate Diamond necklace courtesy of our friends at Zak’s Jewellers. Despite wicked weather, thanks to the generosity of our guests, sponsors, and donors, last year’s event was a tremendous success, and we hope to make next year’s event even more successful, helping to support GPL’s quest for a new Main Library and other invaluable library initiatives, programming, and resources.
