Lively debate looms

The following editorial appeared in the June 29 edition of the Guelph Tribune:

Lively political debate seems on the horizon this fall, in Ward 2 at least. Except for Ward 1 – where there will be at least one vacancy and where five people, including a former councillor, have already put their names forward – there hasn’t exactly been a rush to sign up for the Oct. 25 electionsso far. However, some heated debate can be anticipated at Ward 2 meetings now that former councillor Ray Ferraro is seeking to get back on council. He’ll be taking on the two first-time councillors who topped him at the polls in 2006, Vicki Beard and Ian Findlay, and it appears he won’t be pulling his punches. Let’s hear it for lively debate.
