More on the June 8 storm

Forestry-wise, we’ve fared reasonably well……~30 late calls were received . Mostly hangers that homeowners noticed upon their return from work.

Reported street trees have been made safe—street trees to be scheduled for removal will be marked with orange ‘X’s.

Forestry will be focusing on park clean-ups today with Riverside Park is a top priority, with the Multi-Cultural Festival scheduled for this weekend—we did lose a big Sugar Maple at the main entrance last night. On a positive note, it missed the upper washroom building.

Silvercreek Park (east side of Edinburgh) will have a dedicated crew today removing (5) large willows lost yesterday—this will be a full day’s activity.
