Olympic-style RBC Family Day Festivities part of the City's program to animate downtown

At a media event this morning RBC Royal Bank, joined by special guest, former woman’s hockey Olympic champion Becky Kellar-Duke, announced its support of RBC Family Day Festivities at Guelph Civic Museum and Market Square on Monday, February 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. as part of a significant investment in the City’s cultural programs.

Mayor Karen Farbridge thanked RBC for its generous investment. “As a result of your support, we look forward to a wonderful, Olympic-style Family Day event one week from today,” said Mayor Farbridge.

“RBC is a proud member of the community and supporter of the arts, culture and sport.” said Jamie Clinch, RBC Royal Bank, Regional Vice President, Guelph North Halton. “We encourage families to take advantage of Guelph’s marvelous public spaces and are pleased to continue our support for cultural programs in the heart of downtown.”

RBC’s investment will also support a new program that will be developed to engage artists in the summer months to animate Market Square. The investment includes support of River Run Centre’s 2014-2015 signature showcase series. Further details of these programs will be announced later this spring.
