All this kufuffle about the proposed sikh temple in the south end sounds to me like racism/bigotry. I am sure that in any council vote on the matter you will make your decisions based on real criteria – like adequate parking, traffic access etc. I don’t believe the temple proposal ought to be regarded any differently than an application to build any old church or synagogue or club house for the local atheists. We have a little mosque in our neighbourhood now – although it is in an old converted “Christian” church – and I understand it is quite well attended for Muslim holy days and I don’t think there have been any major negative consequences.
