“The Wilson Farmhouse (known previously as the Ingram Farmhouse) and it’s associated land parcel, located at 80 Simmonds Dr. at the south east corner of Wilson Farm Park, was part of lands dedicated to the City in 2005 as a condition of subdivision approval of the Northern Heights Subdivision because of the farmhouse’s cultural heritage value and interest.
The City’s Official Plan requires that the house be used as a public facility (eg community center or library), but the cost of the renovation and expansion exceeded the available budget, and no need could be identified for such a facility at this location.”
