On Saturday October 25, the Board of Directors of the Guelph Public Library approved it’s 2009 operating budget. A 4% increase to maintain existing levels of service and an additional 5% increase to provide operating expenses for 4 months of operation at a new East End Branch Library were unanimously approved. The Capital expenses to open the new branch were approved and allocated in previous budgets. A site has been selected with a scheduled opening of September 2009.
The Library’s budget is being presented to the Governance and Economic Development Committee on October 30 with final Council consideration scheduled for December 2 and 3. Ian
