As you may have noticed, a new trail has been built between Country Club Drive and the Victoria Northern Heights Subdivision in the walkway blocks between homes on Country Club Drive and Wilton Road. The trail will eventually be extended north to Simmonds Drive.
During review of the trail plans by Traffic Services, it was noted that the new trail on the north side of Country Club Drive could not be constructed to align straight across the road with the existing trail in Golfview Park on the south side due to the walkway block configuration. This is a traffic safety concern as road crossings should be straight across. It was decided that the existing Golfview trail should be slightly realigned. Please see the plan on reverse for details. Some tree removals are necessary to complete the work, but the number of trees removed and impacts of the trail construction on existing trees will be minimized to the greatest extent possible. Parks Planning has retained a contractor to carry out the work which will commence in the next few weeks.
