Recently staff were requested to review the existing parking restrictions on Norwich Street East between Woolwich Street and Cardigan Street to determine if on-street daytime parking could be provided.
As a result of this review, staff are recommending that parking between the hours from 6am to 2am be permitted on the west side of Norwich Street East between Woolwich Street and Cardigan Street. To control the length of daytime parking, staff are also recommending that the existing “No Parking” zone on the west side be changed to a “2-hour” zone, 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Provided concerns are not received, we anticipate that permanent signage will be installed on Norwich Street East within the next couple of months. Once this zone is implemented, permits will be offered to exempt vehicles from the 2-hour restriction. The number of permits issued will be limited to 50% of the available on-street parking spaces. These permits will be first offered to residents at a nominal fee.
