proposed parking areas in downtown Guelph

Please do not vote for any parking garages, buildings, whatever, for downtown Guelph.

The buildings suggested at Baker Street and on Wilson Street are too extremely expensive and are not required especially during these rough economic times.

If the downtown merchants think they need more parking let them build it and then pay for it themselves.

Access to downtown GUELPH is easily available for everyone by our excellent existing transit system.

Let those people ride the bus as I do.

This includes the workers at city hall and any visitors to Guelph.

I hope you use the transit system to attend to city business.

If not, maybe you could start – today.

You must encourage transit usage; building parking areas certainly does not do this at all.

Please remember that the city should not be doing what private business can do for itself.

When the time comes to vote on building parking areas, be strong and pro-transit and vote NO! to anymore anti-green parking endeavours.   MW
