As a member of the Waverly Drive school council I am writing to express my enthusiasm for this project. As our community grows and develops it is wonderful that our green spaces can be adapted to fit the needs of the neighbourhood. The redevelopment will bring new life to our park and will create opportunities for children and neighbours to meet. The sports fields, ice rink and green space encourage physical activity and friendship as children from the community come to play games. Imaginations can run wild while the children are making up exciting adventures on the playground equipment and in the splash pad, while parents have a comfortable seat on the bench and discover that the woman sitting next to them is their new neighbour. Parks are a vital part of life in a neighbourhood, they give people a sense of pride and ownership, it encourages people to work together and help each other out. The Waverly Drive Park Redevelopment will be a new connection in an older neighbourhood, please push forward with this plan. AE
