Findlay resigns from Library Site Selection Committee
Mr. Norm McLeod,
It is with great regret that I notify you that effective immediately, I will be resigning my Councillor position on the Downtown Library Site Selection Committee.
I will be maintaining my position on the Guelph Public Library Board. However, I will be excusing myself on any decisions relating to the location of a new Downtown Library site to avoid any potential conflict of interest.

Ward 4 concern about Nestle PTTW
As a resident of Guelph and caring steward of our watershed resources – I am opposed to this application.
It goes against the Ontario Water Resources Act, Places to Grow Act, riparian owners and inherent rights of the citizens within the watershed. What about source water protection?
What to do with the CFL (not the football kind!)
A concerned resident asks about compact florescent light (CFL) disposal:
I was proud to be a volunteer for Project Porchlight and distribute a number of the 10,000 CFL bulbs to Guelph citizens. I have switched most of my own light bulbs and was spreading the word thinking I was doing a good thing.
Earth Day Garbage
A constituent writes about Earth Day litter in Riverside Park:
As a volunteer who not only picks up garbage on City Clean Up Day (yesterday) but when we go for walks, I was dismayed to see garbage cans full to overflowing all around Riverside Park today, Earth Day morning.

Three years ago I stood before a special council meeting, held at the Italian Canadian Club, to voice my concerns with the location of the Wal-Mart store at Highways 6 & 7.
Museum on the O/R Lands
A constituent writes about:
The Issue of the Guelph Correctional Centre and Wellington Detention Centre Lands
The process is well underway, and the various interested parties are lined up vying for the acreage. The Province and the City have been working away to achieve their objectives, and satisfy as many as they can.
Comment on the Wal-Mart Application
I am writing with a request that before this proposed zoning amendment is granted the City of Guelph develop a plan, in concert with the Cemetery Board, for mitigation of noise and visual concerns for the Woodlawn Cemetery along Woodlawn Road from the intersection with Woolwich St. to past the railway tracks, thus to include the whole of the proposed new section of the cemetery.
